How do I get more Google reviews without annoying customers?

The short answer

Ask in person at the moment the customer is happiest, then send one short text or email with a direct review link. Never offer discounts or gifts for reviews — that breaks Google's rules and can get them removed.

The ask that works

Face to face, at handover: "If you're happy with how it turned out, a quick Google review really helps us." Then send the link the same day while it's fresh.

Make it one tap. Copy your review link from your Business Profile and send that exact link — not instructions to search for you.

Replying matters as much as collecting

Reply to every review, good or bad, in a sentence or two. Future customers read your replies to see how you handle problems.

For a bad review: acknowledge, state what you did about it, offer to take it offline. Never argue in public.

What not to do

No incentives, no bulk requests to people who never bought, no fake reviews, and don't filter customers by asking for their rating first. All of it risks your reviews being wiped.
