What do I need to give someone to build my website?
The short answer
Six things: what you do, the towns you serve, your services and prices, your hours and phone number, ten or so photos, and your domain details. Everything else can be decided during the build.
The list, in the order it's needed
A plain description of what you do and who for. Your service area. Your services, with prices or a range if you publish them. Hours, phone, email and address if customers visit.
Photos: your work, your premises, your team, your vehicle. Daylight phone photos are fine. Stock images of strangers are not.
Your domain — where it's registered and who can log in. If you don't have one yet, say so and it can be bought for you.
What you don't need to prepare
Written page copy, a logo, or design ideas. Sending two or three websites you like is more useful than a brief.
One thing worth deciding early
What you want a visitor to do — call, book, or send a form. Everything on the site gets built around that one action, so changing it later changes every page.
