Do I need a blog for my small business website?
The short answer
Not a blog, no. What helps is a small set of pages that answer real questions your customers ask before buying — five useful answers beat fifty posts nobody searched for.
Why most small business blogs fail
They're written to fill a schedule, not to answer anything. "Five tips for spring" competes with thousands of identical posts and brings no enquiries.
What to write instead
Write down the questions you answer on the phone every week — what it costs, how long it takes, do you cover my area, what happens if something goes wrong. Each of those is a page.
Keep them short and specific. A 400-word page that answers the question completely is worth more than 2,000 words of padding.
